HOK’s newest blogger?

If you’ve noticed my lack of blog posts in the last several months (I’m looking at you Blog Cop), I apologize. For the last 10 months or so, my wife and I have been preparing for our biggest life change thus far, and on Thursday, April 9th at 5:57 PM, Evan Tyler Sutherland came into the world, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, at a healthy 8lbs., 14 oz.

As you can tell, I’m a very proud papa. However, I’m equally as proud to work for HOK, who gave me two weeks paid leave to spend with my wife and son, adjusting to this new lifestyle. One of the newest benefits in HOK’s human resources playbook, paternity leave is not an everyday option for men in the working world. Hopefully this is becoming more of the norm in our society. After having this time off, I can’t imagine not having it off and having to return to work fairly quickly. For this I thank HOK.

If you feel like it, here are some more photos of our new joy. Does he look like a future HOKer?

Congratulations! Also, since this is your first child, I thought I’d point out that your child’s bright eyes are normal, but the bushy tale may be cause for concern. I suggest you have that checked out by your physician immediately.

    Congratulations, but, um…

    “I can’t imagine not having it off…”

You have readers in other countries, including England – where “having it off” is everyday slang, meaning, “having sexual intercourse.”

Just thought you’d like to know!
