iSad too…but maybe not this much

Of course I found out of the passing of Steve Jobs yesterday via social media.  Did anyone find out conventionally??

I’ve never been a big Apple person (save the Apple II+ we had when I was a little girl playing “raise the flags”).  My current house is PC + Linux only; we’re Droid phone users.  I do have an iPod, though.  And I love it.  But I  hate iTunes.  And my Droid is a pretty good music player itself.  I refuse to get an iPad since it doesn’t have Swype and getting information onto the stinkin device is a royal pain.

Regardless of my Apple fan-boy status (or really lack thereof), I do think it is terribly sad that a human being has died. But, wow….the outpouring of grief is kind of crazy.  I’ve seen lots of reporting on the world’s reaction, so thought I would give you a ‘live report’  from the Georgetown Apple Store (just a couple of blocks from the office). Not quite as crazy as some others, but definitely some mourning going on.  Very interesting!

Here's hoping my amateur reporting doesn't get on the real news!

I saw the news as a Facebook update on my iPhone, and read more about it on my Macbook – no prizes for guessing that I’m an Apple fan! I was quite heartbroken.. and will always think of Steve Jobs when I use any Apple product!
