Amazing project. Question: Is anyone using confined masonry techniques in Haiti? Confined masonry has been shown to be cost effective and safe in high seismic zones. Also, projects like this can benefit from employing insulated thermal mass, where the building interior will remain "cool to the touch", as mentioned in the above post. Also, does HOK have a confined masonry expert who could answer a few questions ? Thanks! Marty

Thank you for the beautiful narrative which helps convey an amazing design embedded with such cultural richness. The key features of this design are the answers to that which plagues the country. I thank you as both a Haitian and a student of architecture.

Thom...Mary Ann...Paul...and the entire Haiti team...what an inspiring effort...Congratulations on such meaningful and purposeful inspiration! I am so proud of the courage you show in taking something like this on. The solution looks elegant and completely smart.

I also applaud the root purpose. Your fully integrated thinking is as beautiful in its 'simple complexity' as the community of adoption itself...which by the way...is all about being truely FIT in the most important way...in caring for and nurturing your young...

As a member of the adoption community...I want to personally thank you all for this amazing gift.
