HOK in San Francisco’s Donald Cremers recently traveled to New York to accept Hospitality Design magazine’s Senior Living / Healthcare award for Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital located in Singapore. The event, held on June 5, took place at the Grand Hyatt New York and honored hospitality projects across the globe in 18 different categories. Located in the heart of Singapore’s premier medical hub, this state-of-the-art private hospital delivers world-class care in a hospitality-rich environment. As the flagship hospital of Parkway Pantai Limited, one of Asia’s largest private healthcare providers, this 780,000-sq.-ft., 312-room facility specializes in heart and vascular, neurosciences, orthopedics and general surgery. Challenged to create the “hospital of the future,” the design team blended world-class technology and advanced medical expertise with hospitality-focused patient care to support optimal healing and recuperation inspired by the rich traditions and heritage of Southeast Asia.
The development also establishes a new benchmark in sustainability, having earned Green Mark Platinum certification from Singapore’s Building & Construction Authority for its sustainable features.
