The Dallas Tornado: an eyewitness account

So there I was… 6:00pm on a Wednesday working some OT at the office.  Revit had consumed my last few hours.  The flooding from the hurricane (tropical storm Hermine) had started to recede.  All of a sudden, a siren from outside the building blows.  I had only heard this siren on sunny days when it was tested for tornado alerts.  But today was not sunny. It was rainy, windy and riddled with thunderstorms.  Six of us peeped our heads over our workstations, curious of the siren…  I yelled, “Stay calm!”

One of my favorite things as a kid was sitting on the porch watching the thunderstorms come rolling through over the cornfields. Where my grandmother would get out the holy water and start telling everyone to get into the basement. I use to love watching things blow up.
